Our Puppies are raised in specific whelping areas early on then moved into runs or weaning runs with their moms until 8 weeks of age when they are ready to move to their new families. Our puppies are not raised indoors but do start on indoor crate training a few days before leaving the farm. We have found that indoor potty training is markedly easier with outdoor raised puppies. 

Our puppies complete ENS protocol and are exposed to a variety of early stimulation. They are exposed to a variety of farm animals, radio noise, are handled daily by adults and children and get to explore a variety of outdoor experiences.  We make sure puppies are used to be touched and handled all over. This prevents any future aversion to taking medication or aversion to grooming. 

All of our puppies are started on Diamond Naturals Skin and Coat All Life Stages Formula. This can be purchased through Chewy online ( https://fbuy.io/chewy/manorfarms ) or at Tractor Supply. We have found, through using a variety of different puppy foods, that this food provides optimal nutrition and sets puppies up for a lifetime of no skin allergies. Additionally, we DO NOT, under any circumstances, recommend a high protein puppy food for border collies while they are growing. Many studies have linked hip dysplasia to high protein food during early development in addition to excessive exercise during the first year of life. 

Additionally, we add a small amount of RAW Jersey Milk Kefir (when available) to the puppy's food to boost their good gut flora and set them up for a lifetime of good GI health. If kefir is not available, we do add probiotics to their food..

All of our puppies are microchipped with an AKC Reunite microchip. It is your responsibility to register the microchip with your information. This can easily be done during the registration process. Should your dog ever become lost and have its microchipped scanned, the dog can easily be reunited with you! 

Our puppies are on a strict deworming schedule. We deworm at 2,4, 6 weeks and the day of departure. Additionally, all of our adult dogs are on monthly heartworm and Flea/tick treatment. We do a complete deworming of our adult dogs quarterly. All of our adult dogs are up to date on vaccinations which confers some immunity to the puppies. Our puppies will get their first puppy shot between 6-7 weeks. It is important to understand that puppies must undergo a series of puppy shots up to age 16 weeks with Rabies given at 3 months before full immunity is attained. Please ensure that your keep up with your puppy's shot regimen after pick up as they will only have received one puppy shot at time of pick up (8 weeks). 

Please have your house puppy proofed ahead of time! Border collie puppies love to chew, and it is best to have lots of chew toys for them available. I recommend using a crate for potty training early on. Puppies can typically hold their bladder for the number of hours based on months of age.  (Example: an 8-week-old puppy can only hold their bladder for 2 hours.) Feeding puppies in their crates can help them become more comfortable in the crate. Buy a bigger crate than what you feel you need!

We will provide a small bag of Diamond Naturals Skin and Coat All Life Stages food at time of pick up. Our puppies are on a twice per day feeding schedule. This allows for seamless transition should you decide to transition to another food. If transitioning, we recommend 50/50 mixture with their current food. We also provide a scent cloth that has been rubbed with mother and siblings for comfort to the puppy during the first few days after leaving their first home. All AKC paperwork, microchip information, puppy contract with health guarantee and health records will be provided to the new owner on the day of pick up. 

With AKC registration, there is an offer for 30 days of free pet insurance with opportunity to extend. Additionally, with certain levels of registration, a free initial veterinarian exam is provided. We highly recommend that you take advantage of this incredible offer and have your puppy registered with AKC.

We typically update puppy pictures about weekly. There is no set day that pictures are updated. Sometimes we may update pictures more than once per week and sometimes we may update pictures closer to 2 week intervals. We cannot guarantee specific intervals between picture updates due to our extremely busy schedule with multiple moving parts. We do periodically update videos of the puppies. There is no set interval on when/if we upload video links. We can not accommodate frequent requests for picture and/or video updates from individuals. We appreciate your understanding and know that you are eager to see updates on your puppy. All updated pictures will be made on the website and not individually sent out via text or email.
